Saturday I went to the Big Bob, where I could see the most bands in one place. It was great, each floor had different vibe. The Kathedral had a modest crowd out to enjoy the rock. The first band I saw was The Randalls from Milton. With powerful guitar riffs and the excellent vocals of Jonathan Volpe, The Randalls got me pumped up for another night of music.http://www.myspace.com/therandallsofmilton

Next at the Kathedral was the heaver sounds of West Memphis Suicide. Chris Raposo's guitar was pretty sick. Check out their rock anthems http://www.myspace.com/westmemphissuicide
Upstairs the Reverb is packed for The Songstresses of Six Shooter Records showcase. Amelia Curran, all the way from Halifax sang us folk tales with her unique voice. Have a listen http://www.myspace.com/ameliacurran

After being stuck at the Canadian border, and being awake for 21 hours California's The Robotanists rocked Holy Joes. Singer, Sarah Ellquist had a sexy, charismatic stage presence that was mesmorzing. A great end to my Canadian Music Week adventures. http://www.myspace.com/robotanists
Talent is something you can’t teach. The “artist eye” is not bestowed on everyone that owns a camera. What separates Melissa Moffats’ images from the rest is uncompromising vision.
A professional since 2006 Melissa has placed her work in the following publications: Echo, View, Eye Weekly, Fashion Magazine, EnRoute, Manifesto Festival website.
Melissa cut her teeth snapping the underground music scene of KW, and Toronto. She also has gained notoriety as a free-lance concert photographer freezing in time the visage of such notables as GZA, Talib Kweli, Feist, Sloan and many more.
Her fresh take on the individuality of her subject has gained the attention of those in the fashion industry. Most recently she has captured the fashion of Bruno Ierullo for Ad campaigns in EnRoute Magazine and Fashion Magazine (Sept & Dec 09).
Compassion has also plays a big role in Melissa’s ability to etch out personality. She proved this as the in-house photographer for the Father Ray Foundation at the Pattaya Orphanage in Thailand for six months.
It’s this heart and a knack for creating dialogue with lighting that propels her subjects off of the page.
